Mom’s 23rd Psalm (adapted from the 23rd Psalm of David by Chris Eldridge)

The Lord is her Shepherd; She feels no more pain.
He’s guided her to rest in green pastures:
He’s shown her the deep still waters.
He has restored her soul
He lead her to walk the paths of righteousness for Love’s sake

Now having walked through the valley of the shadow of death,
No fear remains: For God is with her;
The Angels and Archangels comfort her.
A table and feast is prepared
in the presence of Family gone before.
Her life has been blessed.
Now peace is found.

Mom’s goodness and love shall follow me
All the days of my life,
For she now dwells in the House of the Lord
Forever.

The threads are fraying

The threads are fraying
The cord holding back spirit’s flight
Slowly unwinds to its end

The soul floats
While the body is wracked by pain
Birth and death
Two sides the same

Lady of the silver wheel
Spinning in Caer Sidhe
Be gentle with the cut
At the end

A vision I see
At the western gate
The Lady awaits
With my Grandmothers face

The great mystery
What’s beyond the gate
Matters little in the end
Other than the knowledge that there lies Peace
Peace without end

On this day

What’s to come
Who can say
Only love is important
On this day

Lost, her mind wanders
Down paths of memories
Joys and regrets
Tears and fears
Three generations of children’s faces
Fleeting glimpses, but clear

While by her side there stands the man
Whose Love has never failed
Through challenges that might break ones back
They’ve walked the path together
Hand in hand

Looking on the scene
From oh so far away
The light of love that surrounds these two
Will last forever,
and a day.

One Day

One day I will stand on a shoreline
And ponder thoughts of love
One day I will stand upon a hill side
Calling out a name
One day I will stand beside an ancient well
And take a hand in mine

In another time
In another place
We’ve done this all before

In a future time
In a future place
We will do it all again

I hear my name
I call out to you
Ages disappear
Everything is new

This day I will dream
Of the joys yet to come

I’ll Fly

Lady of the Cauldron
Are you nearby?
Will you guide my hands and mind
As we seek the truth within?

Spinner of the thread
Where are you?
Do you spin still,
Or has the measure been made
And the blade set to cut?

Raven haired Great Queen
Your servant stands by
You stand close
But it is not yet time

Soon the dark will come
As springtime renews the world
Soon the lonely path will be be walked
Towards an unknown end

Fleeting glimpses of what could be
Reality or Fantasy
Only time will tell

Down to a water I must go
Submerge all I am
Surrender to the emotional tides
Then just let go

All the way in
No holding back
Straight to the cliffs edge
Then with one more step
I’ll fly
